Every two years, the Verein für Socialpolitik (VfS) awards the Carl Menger Prize at its Annual Conference in recognition of innovative, internationally outstanding research in the fields of monetary macroeconomics, monetary policy, and currency policy.
Named after the Austrian economist and co-founder of the Austrian School, the Carl Menger Prize is jointly sponsored by the Deutsche Bundesbank, the Oesterreichische Nationalbank, and the Swiss National Bank and carries a prize of €20,000.
