The Clark Medal is awarded each year in April to an economist under the age of 40 who has made the most significant contribution to economic thought and knowledge. The recipient must be working at a US university. Philipp Strack studied economics and mathematics at the University of Bonn and earned his doctorate in economics. He was then appointed to the University of California in Berkeley and later to Yale University.
