This year's Hermann Heinrich Gossen Prize went to Claudia Steinwender (LMU Munich).

Claudia Steinwender has made outstanding contributions to empirical trade and innovation economics, particularly to the impact of trade liberalisation, information frictions and research spillovers on productivity and development. Her work is characterised by high scientific excellence, innovative methodology and international visibility. Claudia Steinwender has contributed significantly to the understanding of global economic processes and the internationalisation of economics..

The prize is worth €10,000 and was presented to Claudia Steinwender by Klaus M. Schmidt (VfS Chairman) on the afternoon of 16 September 2025 at the University of Cologne.
