Prize for the Best Dissertation in the Economics of Education 2017/18

 

The Committee for the Economics of Education of the German Economic Association awards a biannual prize of 2,000 Euro for the best dissertation in the area of economics of education.

 


All dissertations are eligible that have been completed during the calendar years 2017 and 2018 and that deal with a topic in the economics of education that is relevant to German-speaking countries. Apart from scientific excellence, societal relevance is an important selection criterion.


The prize will be awarded during the annual meeting of the Committee for the Economics of Education, where the winning thesis will also be presented. The awardee will be chosen by a selection commission that is headed by the chairman of the Committee and includes two further members elected by the Committee.

 

The author of the dissertation, advisors, reviewers, and members of the Committee for the Economics of Education are eligible to make nominations. To be considered, the following documents must be sent by 31 December 2018 as pdf files to the chairman of the Committee
for the Economics of Education (stefan.wolter@vwi.unibe.ch):

 

  • the dissertation,
  • a one-pagesummary in German,
  • a CV, and the
  • Ph.D. reports by the advisors.

 

The reports can also be sentdirectly to the jury by the advisors separately and confidentially.
