Research and teaching assistant (m/f/d)

With about 20, 000 students and approx. 1300 active researches at the doctoral level and above the

The chair of European Economic Policy in the School of Economic Disciplines (Fakultät III) offers three part-time
positions starting September 1, 2019 or later as Research and teaching assistant (m/f/d) (salary scale 13 TV-L, 50%)
The position is limited to an initial period of 36 month period with an option for extension. The duration
of employment is subject to the provisions of the German Temporary Employment in Science Law.

 

You are expected to:

  • Develop and pursue an independent research project in the fields of international and/or European economics, political economy or development economics.
  • Support the chair in research and teaching in these fields.
  • Prepare and teach tutorials in German and English language at the Bachelor and Master level.
  • The teaching obligation is two hours per semester week.
  • Advice students and support the chair in administrative work.

 

The position is intended to further your academic qualification. You are expected to prepare a
dissertation (PhD equivalent) and will have the opportunity to do so within the framework of your
tasks.

 

You have:

  • An outstanding degree in Economics at the master level with a specialization in international
  • economics, development economics and/or political economy.
  • Profound interests in theoretical and empirical research in those fields.
  • The ability to teach in English.
  • The ability to work in a team.
