PhD position in Experimental Economics

PhD Position at the Faculty of Economics and Statistics at the University of Innsbruck

 

The OeNB-funded project “Credence goods in the health care market: An experimental analysis of monitoring and feedback” will study how inefficiencies in credence goods health care markets can be reduced. For this project we are searching for a PhD-candidate willing to work in a highly motivated team on joint research projects in the field of experimental economics.

 

Your duties

  • To contribute to the above-mentioned project by designing, planning, and conducting experiments.
  • To do statistical data analysis.
  • To present the research findings at international conferences.
  • To publish studies in internationally reputable academic journals.
  • To pursue a PhD program (e.g. PhD Program in Economics at the University of Innsbruck: https://www.uibk.ac.at/studium/angebot/phd-phd-program-economics/index.h...).

 

Details and requirements

  • Master degree (or close to completion) in Economics, Business Administration, or cognate disciplines with an excellent track record.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Experience in applying empirical research methods. Willingness to use appropriate software, including software for statistical data analysis (e.g. Stata) and for implementing experimental studies (e.g. zTree, oTree).
  • Fluent communication skills (writing and presenting) in English and German.
  • Gross salary per month (14 times a year): EUR 2.148,40.
  • The position is available as of September 1, 2019 or later.
  • The position is initially for 2 years. A third-party grant proposal which would provide funding for up to additional 2 years will be submitted.
