The Center for EUropean Studies (CEUS) announces the 16th CEUS Workshop on European Economics at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar (Germany) on June 4 - 5, 2020.

 

Founded in 2004, CEUS is an academic center that integrates both research and educational programs on European economic topics. CEUS invites researchers from universities as well as policy and financial institutions to present new research or just attend the workshop.

 

Call for Papers:

CEUS welcomes the submission of papers on various topics in economics related to the research fields listed below. Papers can have an empirical, theoretical, and/or policy orientation. Topics include (but are not limited to):

- Economic effects of migration

- E-commerce and trade in services

- Barriers to the flow of goods and labor

- Trade effects of regional integration

- Production and labor in the informaleconomy 

- Macroeconomic aspects of EU developments

- International institutions and agreements, e.g., Transatlantic Trade and Investment
  Partnership (TTIP)

- International lending & debt problems

- Exchange rate issues

- Financial developments in the EU

- European economies and globalization

- Issues in international financial markets

- Economic warfare and cyber security

- Financial issues of economic integration

- Intellectual property rights

- All other fields related to international trade, labor markets and monetary policy in Europe

 

Please submit an extended abstract of the paper (approx. 800 words) or the complete paper along with a cover letter including paper title, name(s) of the author(s), as well as the email address of the presenting author to haiko.stefan@whu.edu (preferably in pdf format).

 

Submission deadline for the extended abstract of the paper is May 8, 2020. CEUS will notify authors about the acceptance of the submitted papers for presentation by May 15, 2020. Submission deadline for the complete paper is May 22, 2020. Registration for participation in the workshop (for presenters as well as non-presenting attendees) is possible as of May 15, 2020. At that time, a tentative program and detailed information on hotels and transportation will be available. A participation fee of € 95 will be charged and will be due at the time of registration. It includes workshop material, beverages during the workshop, luncheons, and a dinner.
